Cave Academy Open Mats!

Cave Academy is proud to host members of any other Jiu-Jitsu Academy at our weekly open mats, for free! We believe the Jiu-Jitsu community is better served by sharing ideas and friendships than politics and competition.

**Addendum** If you do not have an active membership at a BJJ Academy we ask that you pay a Mat Fee of $25 by venmo, Paypal, or in Cash at the Academy.

Open Mat Rules and Ethics

Hygiene:
-Nails Trimmed/Clean uniforms/No bad or strong odors
-Wear Sandals provided for the restrooms.
Takedowns: 
-No Slamming/Spiking/Suplexes
-No Guard Jumping, Flying submissions, Scissor Takedowns (Kani Basami), or Tani Otoshi.
General:
-You can refuse at any point to roll with anyone, for any reason.
-Fighting, Sexual Harassment, or Emotional outbursts will lead to immediate and permanent banning. We will press charges. We will share the video with every Academy in our network. We will do our absolute best to have you banned from the community as a whole. 

Reminder: Our Academy is equipped with CCTV cameras covering every angle of the property. If you do something wrong we will know about it and have record of it in 4k.

Friday Night Freeforall!
​(Fridays 7pm-9pm)
FNF is a Mostly No-Gi Open mat held every Friday at Cave Academy. Loud Music, colorful lighting, and good vibes. All academies are welcome free of charge. All we ask is that you sign a waiver and follow our Open Mat rules and ethics (See the video below before attending)

Roots Roll Reggae
​(Saturdays 8:30 am -10:00 am)
RRR is a weekly open Mat that is mostly Gi training. Run by our good friend Odee Arceo, this open mat is a friendly place to try out your Jiu-jitsu and listen to some reggae to start your Saturday. Same rules apply, sign a waiver and follow our Rules and Code of Ethics.
